S'Agaró

S'Agaró Vell is a housing development that forms part of the municipality of Castell d'Aro, located between the coastal towns of Platja d'Aro and Sant Feliu de Guíxols.

The S'Agaró Vell development is situated 2 km to the northeast of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, on the small promontory of Sant Pol, full of narrow coves, sweeping gently down to the sea.

It is a semi-private development with its own security service all year round. Motorized vehicles can only enter the development if driven by the owner of one of the exclusive houses in the development.

The development can also be accessed on foot as it borders on the Camino de Ronda, which is a public-access road.

The Camino de Ronda is a route that runs past the coves of the Costa Brava, connecting all the coastal towns. In the past, it was used by smugglers and watchmen. It has been recovered as a pleasant walking route, as it passes through some of the most emblematic places on the Girona coast, such as S'Agaró Vell and provides beautiful views of its coves. It often runs through pine trees and is dotted with watch towers.

S'Agaró Vell houses the Hostal de la Gavina, a 5-star luxury hotel.

The hotel is an architectural structure of singular beauty and history in the purest Mediterranean style. Its interior and exterior come together harmoniously in a single environment, set in a wooded area that surrounds the site like a large park. The gardens form a wide space open to the sea, in which you can stroll, enjoy an aperitif or enjoy the sun and shade of the ancient pines, olive trees, lemon trees, mulberry trees and magnolias.

It is a property with considerable historic value. Inside, it contains Flemish tapestries, a splendid collection of 17th-century Bargueño desks, Romanesque wood cuttings, furniture in the 17th-century French style, Murano lamps and 18th-century Sèvres vases.

S'Agaró Vell it also has a semi-private beach, the Playa de Sa Conca, which can only be accessed on foot or by owners of one of the luxury houses in the development.
